Cindy Kauffman Obituary

YORK Cindy Sue Kauffman, 62, died on Friday, January 24, 2014, surrounded by many who loved her. Cindy had been married to her husband, Ken, for more than 28 years until his death in 2012. Cindy was Ken's constant companion and caretaker prior to his passing. Born October 21, 1951, Cindy devoted her life to caring for those she loved. She was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Geraldine H. (Arnold) Winters. Among those left to cherish her memory are Cindy's two sons, Clint Kauffman and his wife, Meaghan, and Shawn Leiphart and his companion, Amy Gross; and her only grandson, Zachary Leiphart, of whom she was very proud. Cindy comes from a large family and was fondly referred to as "Cin" by her eight brothers and sisters, William Winters; Harry Winters and his wife, Shonna, John Winters and his wife, Carol, Margaret Keiser and her late husband, Lloyd, Violet Runkle and her husband, George, Edward Winters and his wife, Sharon, and Raymond Winters and his companion, Bonnie. Cindy was especially close to her twin sister, Linda "Lin" McKinsey, with whom she shared all things including a love for shopping and laughing. Lin and her companion, John Miller, lovingly cared for Cindy during the most recent months of her illness. Cindy also has many nieces and nephews and a number of close friends who will miss her dearly. Cindy enjoyed reading, shopping, eating sweets, and most of all, sharing time with her family. Her dog, Rosco, was loyal to the end and Cindy loved to spoil him. She will be remembered for her generosity and friendship. A viewing will be held at John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York, on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with service beginning at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Belch officiating. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA, 17604-4125. KefferFH.com

Cindy, a prayer for you and your family.
Lord, look on my Faith and not on my sins. I offer this prayer for Cindy and her family. Look on her with your Merciful Heart and allow her into kingdom. Send your Angels to guide her on her journey home. I knew her as a kind and loving child of yours. Hold her in your arms for all eternity. Give strength and courage and peace to her all her friends and family. Let the joy and love she left in our hearts be the fuel that burns in hearts as prayers for her. I ask all of this in the Name of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. AMEN.
