Dale E. Malott Sr.

HELLAM Dale E. Malott, Sr., 78, died Friday, January 21, 2011, at his residence. He was the husband of Lucille 'Lucye' (White) Malott. Dale was born in York on October 9, 1932, a son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Catherine (Schenck) Malott. He was a designer for the U.S. Navy at the Johnsville Naval Air Development Center. Dale was also the pastor of Druck Valley United Methodist Church for 10 years. Dale was a member of First Assembly of God in York and a 1950 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. In addition to his wife, Dale is survived by two sons, Dale E. Malott, Jr. and his wife, Doreen of Yorkana, and Bruce E. Malott of Hellam; three grandchildren, Patti Stough and her husband, Chad, Joshua A. Malott and his wife, Connie, and Andrew R. Klinedinst; two great-grandchildren, Mase Lamar Stough and Ava Paige Stough; two sisters, Janet Olvitt of Craley, and Joan Houseal of York; and a twin brother, Dean R. Malott of York. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Marie Klinedinst and twin grandsons, Tristin and Chad Stough, Jr. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Assembly of God 2270 Susquehanna Trail North, York, with Pastor Danny Haas officiating. Burial will be in Highmount Cemetery. A viewing will be one hour prior to service at the church.
