Daniel Simmons Obituary
York - Daniel (Dan) L. Simmons, 67, of York, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at his home. He was the longtime companion to Ruth Ann Boyd.
Born March 11, 1951, in Harrisonburg, VA, Dan was the son of the late Kirt and Kathryn (Michael) Simmons.
He graduated in 1970 from York County Vo-Tech. Before his retirement, he was employed in the heating and cooling industry by C.C. Kottcamp, Worden & Shewell and HB McClure. He was an avid hunter and weather enthusiast and enjoyed journaling the weather.
In addition to his companion, Ruth Ann, Dan is survived by his daughter, Jodi Brose Matthews, and her husband Cameron of New Freedom; his son, Daniel Simmons II of Dallastown; grandchildren Mackenzie and Megan Brose; his sister, Deborah Simmons of Mount Solon, VA; and his four-legged buddy, Kadee.
A celebration of life service will begin at 7:00 PM, Monday, February 4, 2019, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Officiating at the service will be The Reverend Philip K. Nace. Burial will be at a later date at the Mt. Olivet United Brethren Church in Mount Solon, VA.
