We wish that he could still be here with me because he was a great doctor and he always kept me and brad happy. Every time we would visit him he would give bradley money and me too. We know he'll always be with us no matter what.

I worked with Dr. Yakacki in Peds at Memorial, he was a great friend and Doctor. We would share cooking recipes. When my two sons had strep and gave it to me he treated all three of us. I will miss him but know he is at peace

R.I.P. Dr. Yakacki... Thank you for taking care of my daughter Mabrey in her early childhood. Love and service is obviously the code you lived by as the many testimonials in your guest book will attest to. My sympathies to your family.

Our family met Dave during our too few years in New Freedom. The first time my wife came home after meeting him, she constantly talked about how friendly and nice he was. She said he genuinely cared and listened to people. These qualities are what drew people to Dave.
My daughter, Tish, was very excited after meeting Dr. Yakacki and knowing he would be our grandson Cameron's pediatrician. When Mabrey was born, we knew she would also be in caring, capable hands. Dave was there at a moments notice, always answering or returning phone calls almost immediately. Janie, Tish, Cameron, Mabrey and I will always be eternally greatful for the loving care and listening provided to our entire family. Dave was a wonderful, sensitive, loving, and caring friend who will be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

I met Dr.Dave through my husband. Dr.Dave was my husband's uncle. For the last 15 years I have spent nearly every holiday at Aunt Linda and Dr.Dave's for dinner. Dr.Dave made me feel right at home from the very first time we met. Dr.Dave was always there for my family. I would call and ask medical advice for our son and he would be there for us. I knew Dr.Dave as a very caring and loving Dr. as well as a caring and loving Uncle. We will carry him in our hearts forever. Aunt Linda, Chris, Karin, we are family and we are here for you. Call us if you need anything. We love you all.

Dearest mom#2 and family,
I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of dad#2.
I remember my stay in Shrewsbury, our first chat at the patio, the wonderful moments we shared watching Six Feet Under at the basement, the time he took me to the barber, the ice-cream time, and I remember he wrote me a card hoping that our lines would cross again before I left Shrewsbury.
I am at a loss for words, and I cannot really say much except for how I appreciated Dave for his generosity and sense of humor.
I will surely miss him.
I will continue to pray for you.
Hugs.
Love,
Josh

Words cannot explain the rush of feelings I had when I learned of his passing. David was a driving force behind my chosen career path. I wanted to be a doctor when I was a child because "I wanted to help sick people just like David does". Although my interests led me on a slightly different trek, David was with me on one of the most important days of my life: graduation from physical therapy school. It was such a sense of accomplishment, and to have my "mentor" share that day with me was truly a blessing.

Dear Linda and Family, David was a caring, compassionate physician who will be missed by the entire Pediatric Community here in York. He was kind enough to care for our practice's patients who were born at MOH, and parents spoke well of him. I can remember seeing him on the Pediatric Floor late at night, admitting a sick child. He was a good person who always had a kind word. I am so sorry for your loss.

Linda and Family,
Dave and I were Knights of Columbus friends. He and I worked together as Financial Secratery / Treasurer team for 2 to 3 years. We took our Fourth Degree together. Have not had much contact in last couple years, but always thought of him as my friend.
Wish you all well and will keep in my prayers.

You cared for my two sons and my daughter from their births until your retirement. Always kind and loving, you opened your office in the middle of the night on more than one occasion to care for one of them. A true doctor in the broadest sense and a good man. You are already missed. God bless you and your family.

Dave,
I am flooded with memories of you, dear cousin, from riding on the handlebars of your bike as you took me from my house to yours on the old trolley trail to the time you and your polka band wore those wigs and were playing the Beatle's "She love's you yea yea yea" in the front room of your parent's house. And I can't forget the night you, cousin Marge, and I overindulged on steamed clams and beer and vowed never to eat another clam in our lives again. And the morning of your wedding as you looked a little green at the mention of scrambled eggs for breakfast. You are loved by family and friends and will be missed. Our Lord said "Let the little children come to me" and you lived by that creed with the gifts God gave you. May you find rest in His loving embrace and may you be remembered forever.

Chris and family,
We were so shocked and saddened by this news. We knew him on two levels, one as a very good pediatrician when the kids were small, one as the father of a wonderful young man who has been our son's best friend since grade school.
You are in our hearts and prayers and it goes without saying that we are here for whatever you may need.

Dr. Yakacki was always there when I needed him no matter what the time was. Many a night he treated my young diabetic child who had terrible ear infections. He always returned my calls, saw my child after hours and never once asked for payment before service. A true Doctor! Thank you again for being a super terrific doctor and person. We will miss you.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Yakacki for a few years and found him to be an excellent and caring physician, not just to his patients, but in calming the anxieties of the parents. The office schedule was always met with great anticipation to see who would have the opportunity to work with Dr. Yakacki the one Saturday a month he worked in the York office. His knowledge in the history of the coal mines was remarkable. Thank you Dave for your gift of healing and at many times, laughter. May your family find comfort knowing that you were a great person.

I never looked forward to taking my sick child to the doctors, but going to see Dr. Yakacki I knew he would help ease my worries. It didn't mater what time, day, or night he always took my phone calls. God Bless you, and thank you for blessing us with your presence on this earth. A wonderful man!
