She volunteered for Reach For Recovery, a group that helps with recently diagnosed breast cancer patients. She helped organize both the annual Breast Cancer Survivor Day Event, and the Volleyball Tournament at Craley Days. She was very active in helping to raise funds for various cancer related groups and other charitable organizations. Lora leaves a brother, Brian L. Mundis and his wife, Stephanie and their children, Christopher, Joshua, and Nathan of York; paternal grandmother, Gladys (Craley) Mundis of Windsor; maternal grandmother, Tressa (Wallace) Frey of Craley; aunt and uncle, Lona J. and Robert C. Birkett Family,
I did not have the pleasure to meet Lora. Although I feel in my heart that I know her thru Phil and Jan. Based on the heart to heart talks over the last year I know that Lora will be missed by many. May your heart find the peace and comfort in the knowledge that you are never alone. God is your stronghold! God is good and so is Lora- she has much work to do from heaven- one will be to watch over her family.
Peace be with you-

Gary and Ben,
Our hearts are heavy. There are no words to express how sorry we are for your loss. Though we are back at home, please know that the two of you are always in our thoughts and, whatever you need, just ask.
We are lucky to have been blessed with a sister-in-law like Lora. Among her many other qualities, her beauty, intelligence, kindness & generosity are not lost. She has left each one of us with the task of carrying on her remarkable qualities and passion for life. We will always remember her smile, her laugh, her strength, her compassion and her courage. She may be gone from this earth but she will remain in our hearts and in our lives forever.

With an abudance of love and big hugs,
Susan and Jaison

Dear Gary and Ben,

It was with great sorrow that we learned of "Mommie" Lora's passing. For as long as l've known her, she fought such a courageous battle with cancer. I will always remember her sweet disposition and gentle voice. I know the pain is great now, but, the blessing of her life will forever be with you.

Our hearts go out to you and your family.

ASCENSION

And if I go,
while you're still here...
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
--behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
--both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
...I will be there.

To Gary and Ben,
We will pray for you daily that God will give you the strength to get through each day without Lora and to help you look forward to the day you will be reunited with her in heaven.
When we moved back to York due to my diagnosis of breast cancer-a prognosis of three years of life, Lora emailed me and helped me even while she was struggling herself with the same disease. You can be very proud of the kind of woman she was--helping others even while she was in need herself.
My youngest,James, was not yet 5 when I was diagnosed, and went through much with me as did all my children. I did not want to leave my children as I am sure Lora did not.
God,in his unfathomable plan, has allowed me to remain longer with my children. With that time, I would like to be like Lora and help others starting with you and Ben, Gary.
If there is something I can do, please let me know. If you think Ben would like to have a pal who has gone through a mom in the trials of breast cancer, and someone he can talk to about it,let me know, and he and James could get together.Sometimes, kids need a support group just like we do.
We love you Gary.

To Lora's Family -

I am so very sorry for your loss. Lora was a beautiful person in every way, and a wonderful co-worker. In a busy, complicated working environment, her consistent positive attitude, intelligence, calm leadership and pleasant demeanor truly set her apart. But everyone also knew that her real priority was her family. What a beautiful legacy she leaves, but how much you will all miss her so... my heart goes out to you.

Rest in eternal peace, Lora.

Lora was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. Through all of her trials with this terrible disease, she remained positive, strong, and hopeful that she could beat it. I remember one day she came in with a wig on and I was trying to console her and she said, don't feel bad for me...who else do you know, can where a different hair style and different hair color every day! She is an inspiration to all who knew her. I will truly miss her smile!
