Luther G. Myers

DALLASTOWN Luther G. "Cedric" Myers, 93, formerly of Littlestown, died late Monday, January 31, 2011, at HCR Manor Care Dallastown. He was the widower of Lois (Yealy) Myers, who died June 26, 2000. Born July 28, 1917, in Silver Run, Md., he was the son of the late Claudius O. and Lizzie (Keefer) Myers. He was Maintenance Superintendent, retired from Littlestown Area School District. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the following battles: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Cedric received the following decorations: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, American Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of The Pentecostals of York serving as head usher. He was a member of American Legion for 64 years, lifetime member of the Fish & Game, and Alpha Fire Co., all of Littlestown. Cedric is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John A. and Nancy L. Myers of York. He was predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown, with Pastor Jerry K. Tipton officiating. Viewing will be Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover, with Littlestown Allied Veterans conducting military honors.
