I knew Robbie when he was still a teen and working for my neighbor, Duane Weston, just learning how to build houses. I was a kid but I remember him as a sweet guy.

Ruminating over the life of Bob Kinsley as we approach the first anniversary of his passing, three words keep appearing in my mind--loyal, giving, tireless. Loyal to his family and associates, giving to the needs of others whatever they may be, and always prepared to go the extra mile, Bob was a true benefactor in every sense of the word. I believe no one will ever know the extent of his generosity and philanthropy. I vividly recall our first meeting--my interview-day luncheon at York College in the president's office, 29 March 1994. Bob sat directly across from me. From my place I could see the papers I had forwarded for the position of engineering coordinator (cover letter, resume, etc.). They were seriously marked up with notations and yellow highlighting. And for good reason; he drilled me with many questions. Curious to me at the time (but in retrospect, it was who he was all along) aside from my academic and technical background was his delving interest in the community work I had done in Rochester, including my work to found a STEM program in an inner-city high school. I soon came to realize this was his true nature--giving, to help others. It was never about himself, but for others, his community, and York College. An extraordinary man, I was honored to know him in my years at YCP. Rest in Peace, Robert Kinsley.

Our sincere condolences to Anne, Rob, and the rest of the family. We are so happy to have had the opportunity to work with Bob on the Visitor Center and other projects in Gettysburg. Like many of the soldiers who fought at Gettysburg, he was a man guided by sheer determination, and a vision for a better country. His loss is an immense one for the region, but his legacies will live on.

When I met Bob Kinsley 35 years ago I was a "greenhorn" fresh out out of college, he was already a seasoned land developer yet he treated me respect and patience shepherding me through the project process with his down-toearth spirit and inspiring drive. Since then I've had the good fortune to have known each of his incredible sons as a co-worker, classmate, employee, consultant, and rival high school suitor. There's some interesting tales. Point is: Bob's influence and legacy runs deep from York to Baltimore and beyond where he has built a better world for so many. A small man in physical stature, Bob was a Giant in spirit, business, and philanthropy, Thank you Bob. Rest In Peace. Thoughts and prayers for
the family.

On behalf of all the employees of Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site, we wish to express our sincere condolences. Mr. Kinsleys dedication and passion for the parks is reflected in the great success of the Gettysburg Foundation for the parks. The National Park Service is forever grateful for a Museum and Visitor Center that provides a visitor with an experience that would not exist today without Mr. Kinsleys leadership. The parks museum collections and cyclorama are protected, and the visiting public has a facility to serve as a place for orientation, education and constructive dialogue. Thank you, Mr. Kinsley, you will be sincerely missed.

We do not do Bob full justice if we simply focus on the dollar value, or quantity of the assets he had accumulated. While truely remarkable, even more has been garnered by much lesser men.
Rather, Bob was a man of the absolute highest qualities: Integrity, good taste, drive, charity and decency.
And he was committed to the loftiest standards of excellence in what he did.
His life and work set the Gold Standard.
Bob has now returned to his true element, which was the source of his preeminence. But, while no longer present physically among us, his accomplishments remain. Their superiority is there to inspire and guide us.
My deepest sympathy goes out to wife Anne and sons and sisters Anne, Debra and Liz.

A good man. Hardworking and direct. A man whose leadership was best displayed by the way he ran his business and lived his life. I only met Bob a couple of times but heard many tales of him from my mentor, Philip Bath. His part in both our community and the construction industry was a clear example for any to see. Rest in peace.
