Robert T. C. Schlein

Robert T. C. Schlein, 65, died Sunday, July 27, 2003 at the Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of Kerry Flinchbaugh Schlein. Born August 16, 1937 in York, a son of the late Charles and Marguerite Cottrell Schlein. Mr. Schlein was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (19561960) followed by 11 years in the Air National Guard rising to the rank of Mstr. Sergeant. He was a former Chairman of the PA Air National Guard NCO Council and the first chairman to succeed himself. For a time he was salesman for Printing Plate Craftsman and Strine Printing Company. Mr. Schlein and his wife started and operated Omni Graphics, Inc. in York, a Printing Brokerage firm then in 1986 he purchased Osborn Printing Co. in Biglerville. Mr. Schlein was a member of the Ira Lady Post 262 American Legion, Biglerville. For 10 plus years he served in various leadership and management positions in Youth, School, Scouting and Peer organizations. In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, William C. Schlein of Spencerport, NY, Albert T. Schlein of Penfield, NY, Marguerite A. Vezina of Marco Island, Fla., Dr. Cheryl A. Polkowski of Camillus, NY, Holly L. Schlein of Gettysburg and Robert H. Ebner, Jr. of New Jersey; three grandchildren; one brother, Charles F. Schlein of Dover; a sister, Ruth A. Schlein of York; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Wilson. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 9th at 11 a.m. from the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Gettysburg with Fr. Andrew Sherman officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert T.C.
