Ronald R. Egger
May 4, 1939 - February 9, 2017
York
Ronald R. "Box" Egger, 77, died on February 9, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of the late Shirley J. (Nichols) Egger. Born in Harrisburg on May 4, 1939, he was the son of the late John and Mary Alberta (Warner) Egger.
He retired from a career in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant.
Ronald is survived by three sons, Tom DeLouis of York, Roland Michael Meers of Centerville, OH and Brian James Meers of Arlington, VA; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 North George Street, York. Those attending are asked to meet at the Pennsylvania Ave. entrance of the cemetery at 1:45 pm. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
