Ruby J. (Brillhart) Sotdorus, 86, died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of Calvin A. Sotdorus, with whom she celebrated a 61st wedding anniversary on June 30, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Paul's (Dub's) UCC Church, 1958 Dub's Church Road, Hanover, with Rev. Larry M. Estepp and Rev. Philip Nace, officiating. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Sotdorus was born October 3, 1931 in Manheim Township and was a daughter of George D. and Virgie I. (Becker) Brillhart.
She was a graduate of Codorus Township High School in the class of 1949 and was a secretary with the former Sotdorus Motor Company, Glen Rock for many years, retiring in 1993. Prior to that she had worked at the former Murphy's 5 & 10 and with Lana Lobell in Hanover.
She was a life member of St. Paul's (Dub's) UCC Church and of the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403 Ladies Auxiliary, Glen Rock.
She also leaves, two daughters, Susan E. Bartell (Doug) of New Freedom and Stacey E. Wueschinski (Ed) of New Oxford; was "Mam" to four grandchildren, Justin Sotdorus, Nick Bartell (Nicki Graham), Joshua Wueschinski (Emily), Jared Wueschinski; and two great-grandchildren, Chandler and Anna; and by a brother, Ross H. Brillhart (Doris) of New Oxford; and by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Calvin A. "Junie" Sotdorus, Jr.; by a sister and three brothers.
