Ruth Butcher Obituary

YORK Ruth R. Butcher, 89, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Manor Care South. She was the wife of the late John H. Butcher. A visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, 321 S. George St., York. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Robert M. Gillelan, Jr. as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is entrusted with the arrangements. Mrs. Butcher was born June 13, 1920, in Hanover, a daughter of the late Francis and Bertha (Lippy) Rineman. She retired from the PA State Department of Revenue following 10 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Golden Nuggets. Ruth is survived by two children, Linda L. Wagman and her husband, Greg of Long Neck, Del., and Daniel P. Butcher of York; four grandchildren, Amy Taylor, Scott Wagman, Kelly Wagman, and Tyler Butcher; three great-grandchildren, Nathan Taylor, Morgan Taylor, and Kaitlynn Wagman; and two sisters and a brother, Patricia Frantz of York, and Francis Rineman and Phyllis Kale, both of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Rineman, and a sister, Rita Stover. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 321 S. George St., York, PA 17401. KefferFH.com
