Ruth A. Serff, 97, entered into rest at 4:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, in York. She was the wife of the late Lawrence E. Serff.
Born November 6, 1918, in Dover Township, she was a daughter of the late Clarence J. and Carrie (Brillhart) Lauer.
Ruth graduated from Dover High School. She was a homemaker, member of Faith U.C.C. in York and an active volunteer at York Hospital for many years. Ruth enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and solving crossword puzzles.
She is survived by three children, Diane L. Jablonski of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Janet E. Slater of Reading and David L. Serff of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Greg Jablonski and Suzanne Walker; and a sister, Dorothy Lowe of Clayton, N.Y.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family with Ruth's pastor, the Rev. Ron Oelrich, officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving her family.
