Velma Reaville Obituary

YORK Velma V. Reaville, 96, died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at York Lutheran Home. She was the wife of the late John N. Reaville and the late Hersel F. Shaffer. A viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Reaville was born December 17, 1914, in Rowlesburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Oscar R. and Etta E. (Teets) DeWitt. She was a graduate of Rowlesburg High School. Velma is survived by two children, Ronald F. Shaffer and Barbara K. Zorbaugh, both of York; four stepchildren, John R. Reaville of Ft. Myers, Fla., Leonard Reaville and Gary Reaville, both of Morgantown, W.Va., and Pauline Fredriks of Ohio; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Pyles of York and Fay Ballard of Michigan; and a brother, Bernard DeWitt of Florida.
