I'm so sad to learn of Mark's passing only recently. Although I haven't seen Mark in several years, working as part of his team was a wonderful part of my life. His constancy and positive outlook were grounding to all of us, even those on the team (like me) who lived 3000 miles away. I remember one time when he was in San Diego for a customer visit, and he had several back to back calls. He said - heck, I'm not going to see anything in San Diego except my hotel room and these customers - can you at least drive me to the beach while I do these calls? We sat in a parking lot for nearly two hours while he did his calls and afterwards he said - heck Mary, how do you get any work done here at all when you have these beautiful waves to watch? It was a small moment, but it was fun to share in his humor and love of nature. Fair winds and following seas, Mark. My deep sympathies for his family.

Mark (K-BO) was my best friend ever. I wondered why he didn't reply to my texts earlier this month. I just sent another to him and again no reply. Then something hit me to search for him. I'm JB, We were roommates for 4 years in college and never got back together after that. We were brothers like no two could ever be. I can't believe I will never see him again or share a back slap or his stupid laugh with him. Damn, what happened to him. He can't be gone. We had so much to catch up on in our retirement some day soon.
If anyone, ANYONE can contact me PLEASE, PLEASE DO!! I'm so sick to hear this news.

Mark was a great mentor and friend. Over the past 7 years, I worked closely with Mark and spent many hours with him both personally and professionally. Mark always talked about his family, how dedicated to them he was, and how he would do anything for them. He was the same way with the people he worked with and cared about. And he was that way even with the people who he barely knew, like the bartender or waiter who was nice to him and he would leave an incredibly outsized tip. I'm sure the waitstaff at Mistral's in Redwood Shores will never forget the guy who always ordered "Rigs with marinara sauce and shrimp" - even though it wasn't on the menu. He would always say he wanted the kids meal! No matter where you went with Mark, he wanted to know what he could do for you, and tried to make you laugh. Even on the day I told Mark I was leaving Oracle, I knew he was upset, yet he still thanked me for everything, made jokes and wanted to know what he could do for me and talked about us getting together for another shot of fireball.
My deepest condolences to Mark's family. He will be missed by all.

Dad,
Thank you for being the absolute best father a daughter could ask for. You always made time for me, protected me, supported me, and told me you loved me every chance you got.
When I got pregnant I knew youd be an amazing grandpa, and you were exactly that, amazing. Louie loved you so much, dad. Ill miss seeing you walk around the house with him almost every Sunday pointing out every fan and light, never putting him down unless you wanted to sit on the ground and play with him. Ill miss watching from the window while you took him into the woods to let him touch the leaves on the trees, and show him all the animals in the backyard. Im sure you told him what each and every tree was out there and what birds were around just by the calls you heard, just like you did with me and the boys. You had the amazing ability to look at any tree or plant and listen to any bird or animal call and immediately know exactly what it was without a shadow of a doubt, thats another thing Ill miss. Ill miss calling you when I was unsure of my parenting skills and hearing you say relax, Kels, youre doing fine and to take a deep breath, hes still alive so we are doing something right.
Ill miss your late night calls when you were out of town, and being sure you always texted me when you took off, landed, and made it home safe from every trip because you knew Id be worried until I knew you were back home. Ill miss coming home from college and laying around in big bed with you binge watching ID channel while you insisted you knew the ending to the show as soon as it started. Ill miss dancing around the kitchen to Waiting for a Star to Fall scream singing after a few glasses of wine, just me and you.
Ill miss it all, everything. I promise to take all the best parts of you and be the best parent and person I can be. I promise to always put my family first like you did. I promise to take care of myself and most importantly, make you proud.
Thank you for the 28 years of unconditional love, support, advice, jokes, best hugs, and laughs. The world is not the same without you. I will miss you forever and I love you so much.

Mark will be greatly missed. Our heartfelt condolences to his family, and it was heartwarming to see so many people whose lives he touched at the remembrance service this weekend. When we joined Oracle as a couple of Aussies from an acquired company, Mark was immediately welcoming to us. We will never forget Marks sense of fun, or his nicknames for people around the office, but Mark also worked hard to drive core values of integrity and trust throughout his business. We will always remember Mark as a leader with a unique down-to-earth quality, who would spend time with people from any level of the organization. We are sure his memory will live on through so many people who were inspired by working with him.

I worked with Mark at Oracle from 1992-2006. He was young sales rep when I first met him and he deservedly rose to become the leader of the entire Oracle US and Canada Public Sector organizations. Mark was a talented, caring and dedicated sales professional who balanced his hard work with loving care of his children. He will be greatly missed by those he worked with and the customers he served. My deepest sympathy to his children and extended family.

I worked with Mark for many many years at Oracle. I began working with him at the begining of our Oracle career in Bethesda when he was a rep. Mark was one of the nicest people I have ever met and worked with. He was one of the most considerate people and was always so supportive. That never changed even when he became an executive. I will never forget his wonderful smile and infectious laugh. He was always telling jokes and was so funny. He was such a great guy and will be missed by many. My condolences go out to his family and kids that he loved. I am so very sorry. He definitely left us too soon.

Its with great sorrow that I write this post as a friend of the legend, Mark Johnson. First and foremost I want to send my deepest condolences to Marks children, extended family and friends for this tragic loss. Ive had the pleasure to know Mark over the last decade and have been absolutely touched by his kindness, generosity, humor and caring nature. You meet very few people in life that make an everlasting impression but Mark was truly one of those people. A character that was larger than life and could take off his suit at any moment to relate with the common man. A true selfless and self deprecating individual that always thought about everyone else before himself. Ill never forget our chats about life and love and cherish every single moment we spent together. From the bottom of my heart, thank you my friend and one day we will meet again in the paradise you were always searching for. Done!!! Love, The Raccoon

I worked with Mark as part of the Public Sector team at Oracle for 30 years and feel blessed to have watched him develop over the years from a Federal Civilian Sales Rep to the highly respected leader of the Public Sector Division. I have many fond memories of Mark, particularly from the "olden days" when our interactions were more frequent and direct. He was respected, driven, funny, committed and loyal. He built a team atmosphere of driving toward a common purpose and took the time to thank and recognize the efforts of the entire team. I will miss him tremendously. My heartfelt condolences to his family, his many friends, and most especially to his kids. I pray that time will heal and lighten the pain you feel and that the warmth of your good memories will give you peace.

Mark and I worked together at Pappy's Pizza back in the late 70s/early 80s and became good friends. We had a lot of good times back then. Mark could always put a smile on your face or make you laugh. I hadn't been in touch with him for almost 40 years, but it breaks my heart that he's gone. My condolences go out to Mark's wife and children and the whole Johnson family.

Mark was the gold standard all the way. He interviewed me when I was hired at Oracle 14 years ago and every transaction after that was smart, wise and always funny. While he had many #1 fans I will always be in that camp. May his magical memory be a blessing to his family.

Mark and I worked together 40 years ago at Pappy's Pizza in his and my hometown of York, Pennsylvania. We forged a friendship that lasted for years but sadly, we both got caught up in our lives and fell out of touch in recent years. Mark was one of the most genuine individuals I have met in life. I was lucky to have shared some great times with him and am so saddened by his passing. My condolences go out to his family and friends. His was a life well lived.

While I only had the privilege of enjoying Mark's company a few times, it was enough to know that he was truly a one in a million! I took great pleasure in knowing that while my husband worked long hours he had Mark Johnson by his side to actually make the office an awesome place to be. So many wonderful stories made it home to me as well as the highest praise! I always looked forward to the next time my path would cross with his. I am truly heartbroken over the loss of my husband's amazing colleague and friend. My heartfelt condolences go out to his loving family, his many many friends, and all those who are feeling this unbearable loss. We should all be so fortunate as to have a Mark Johnson in our lives!

This is the hardest thing that I've ever written. I have had the good fortune and honor of working closely with MJ for the last 12 years (almost 50 quarters). He has taught me so much about leadership, loyalty, dedication and friendship. I will always be indebted to him for that and so much more. I will never be able to step into Oracle, approach the office, close a quarter or even see the word Oracle without thinking of him. I will cherish the time I have spent with him over the years, the awesome stories he told, the nicknames he had for everyone, the close dinners and business trips we shared and all the QBR and Forecast meetings we prepped together. His smile, face, laughter, always made it fun to go to work and I will miss that so much!!! My thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time and I hope we all can take some comfort in knowing that he had so much positive impact and influence on so many people. I know I will always carry a piece of him with me in the future and hope to continue to feel his presence every day. Thank you for the great times, MJ. I will always "round up" for you in the future. B.

I knew Mark through my husband Kurt and he soon became my friend as well. He was such a great dad to his kids, a hard worker and had the best stories from his childhood growing up. You could never get enough of them. Mark loved entertaining and was so much fun to me around. I know he will be truly missed by his family, friends and many co-workers. I bet he is in heaven telling each and everyone what kind if animal they look like. I know most of you will get that. I am praying for his children and all his family and friends as they mourn Marks loss. ❤ With Love, Jean Reiter

Mark Johnson! What a great man. I've had such great memories with Mark and we usually ended our meetings with a drink at the bar or dinner with the team(s). Mark would always give me a giant hug and say, "I love ya Pat!". Mark was fair, honest and transparent. He had a great sense of humor and a laugh that unique like a finger print (I can hear it now). I'm a better person for having the time I did with Mark.
"I love ya Mark!"

Mark and I started at Oracle on the same day, were in the same orientation classes and were both guilty of paying little attention to what was being said. We were bad examples!! but we had fun. I liked him from day 1 and feel he enjoyed my company just as he did the company of all others he knew. Of course with career changes and mobility we lost touch over the years. BUT when we did run into each other (airports, reunions....wherever) we always shared the same old schtick we enjoyed at Oracle "the wonder of Oracle is not how well it runs on a mainframe but that it runs there at all". I was sorry to hear of his passing, especially at such a young age. Every day is a gift and you are not promised one day more....................fly home Mark (Eccl. 12:7)

I met Mark in 1991 - ancient history at today's pace. But, whatever the pace, and it was frequently blisteringly fast - Mark was thoughtful and always a gentleman. I observed him always in love with his work and his family, both at Oracle and at home. I remember on one occasion, when we were all stuck fo in an airport on a Club trip, that he was so gentle with his young children - never losing patience with them over the long hours of our delay. I'd hope that my kids are like Mark - wholesome, generous, thoughtful, and loyal to a fault to their high values and their family, both work and personal.

"Done" was a favorite term that Mark used when he made a decision that supported what we were trying to get done with the Oracle business. Mark was a proponent of the principles and values that were established back in 1992 and was totally supportive of recognition and reward programs that honored employees and customers that shared best practices which make our business better. Mark was always willing to support new approaches to the business that would help all of us better serve the mission of the organization and the company. A winner that I felt I could always count on in our efforts to meet the wants, needs, and expectations of our internal and external customers. Rest in peace Mark and blessings and sympathy to your family.
