ANNETTE BILLINGSLEY Obituary

ANNETTE BILLINGSLEY Annette Billingsley, 87, passed away on February 18, 2025, in Glen Rose Texas. She is survived by her two sisters Linda Massey and Judy McElhatten. Annette is preceded in death by Father and Mother Leonard and Mildred Abshier as well as both of her children, Virginia and Mark Billingsley. Annette, the oldest of three girls, was raised on rural family land in Liberty County, Texas where she enjoyed riding her beloved horse "Dixie". After graduation from High School at age 16 she went on to graduate nursing school at age 19. Soon after nursing school, Annette was married to her high school sweetheart, Bob Billingsley, and they had two children. She and her family moved to South Dakota where she became interested in the plight of underserved Native American girls. Annette was instrumental in starting and then teaching in nursing schools there in South Dakota after continuing her own education in North Dakota. During her life, Annette moved several times and lived in several different states always continuing her nursing career. After her retirement, she was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a home on the beach at Crystal Beach, Texas not far from where she grew up.
