JONATHAN JACOB "JJ" POGUE 07/15/2018 - 05/24/2025 Jonathan Jacob "JJ" Pogue, 6, a much loved, happy, compassionate, son and little brother, passed away on Saturday, May 24th, 2025. JJ was born July 15, 2018 in Weatherford, Texas, to parents Brian and Amanda Pogue, and joined his big brother, David as treasured gifts from the Lord. JJ is also survived by his PopPop and Nana, Roger and Teresa Pogue of Waco; PawPaw and Gigi, Bill and Carolyn Vineyard of Glen Rose; Great Grandmothers Helen Badley of Waco; and Evelyn Vineyard of Glen Rose; his Uncle Richie and Aunt Tammie Vineyard, along with Cousins Maggie and Maya; Uncle Connor and Aunt Madi Pogue, along with cousin Lainey; and many other family members that loved him dearly. JJ loved life and loved people. JJ professed Christ about a year ago and amazed all around him with his hunger to grow and learn about Jesus. He consistently looked for ways to help those around him. His contagious smile and incredible hugs were legendary and freely given to anyone he knew. While we are heartbroken by his passing, we rest in the fact that we know he is sitting at the feet of Jesus. Visitation with the family was from 6-8pm on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Glen Rose. Celebration of Life services were held at 10am, Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, 201 Bo Gibbs Blvd. Glen Rose, Texas 76043. Burial followed at Glen Rose Cemetery in Glen Rose, Texas. His parents request you dress in bright colors or dinosaur pattern shirts/dresses. JJ loved dinosaurs and questioned if he could have a pet dinosaur in heaven. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to the First Baptist Church Glen Rose Building Fund.
