MILTON SCHULTZ Obituary

MILTON SCHULTZ JR. Milton Schultz Jr., 75, passed away on September 9, 2023 in Glen Rose, Texas. Milton was born on October 30, 1947, in Austin, Texas, to Rita Schultz and Milton Schultz, Sr. He graduated from Cleburne High School and went on to receive an undergraduate degree from Baylor University where he was awarded a track scholarship and attended the University of Texas for graduate school, where he earned his Degree in Pharmacy. Milton operated as Director of Pharmacy at Glen Rose Hospital and owner/operator of Glen Rose Discount Drug and Pecan Discount Drug, serving the Glen Rose and surrounding communities for 50 years in Pharmacy. He was a trusted and beloved figure in the community, known for his dedication to his work and the well-being of his customers. Milton had a deep love for his family and cherished every moment spent with them. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon Schultz, their two children, Trae Schultz & wife, Cyndi Schultz and Carrie Smith & husband, Todd Smith. He is survived by his five cherished grandchildren, Trent Smith & wife, Gretchen, Tanner Smith & wife, Hannah, Lyla Schultz, Nixon Schultz, and Bellamy Schultz, great grandchild, Emory Smith, sister Clara Bush & husband Joe, brother Mike Schultz & wife Debi, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Rita Schultz & Milton Schultz, Sr. and grandchildren: Sawyer Jameson Schultz & Tristan Milton Schultz. Milton was passionate about the outdoors and had a love for hunting. Among his many accomplishments in the sport, he was awarded the Dallas Safari Club's "Hunter of the Year" and achieved the Boone & Crockett Grand Slam of North American Wild Sheep award. He was also a dedicated supporter of the University of Texas' football program, enjoying games and tailgating alongside family and friends. Milton was well known for mixing the best Bloody Mary around and for his warm hospitality. Milton will be remembered for his warm and generous heart, his dedication to his community, and his love for family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and "Poppy" to his grandchildren, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 15th, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, located at 201 Bo Gibbs Blvd, Glen Rose, TX 76043, with a reception to follow. Honorary pallbearers serving will be Larry Mann, Charles Lummus, John Pruitt, Gary Marks, Dr. Stephen Erck, Kenneth Miller, Ben Mieth, Dr. Justus Peters, Dr. Bruce Carpenter and Dr. Mike Davis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to UT Southwestern Medical Center: Harold C.
