MICHAEL WATKINS

MICHAEL LEE WATKINS Michael Lee Watkins, beloved father and local restauranteur passed away January 25, 2025. Born on May 6, 1949, to Malcolm Ernest Watkins and Dorothy Faye Watkins in Gatesville, Texas, he was 75 years old at the time of his departure. As a young fellow, Michael was a doting, caring brother to his two siblings, Suzanne and David. He distinguished himself in his studies and athletic programs to earn a full-ride, football scholarship to Texas Tech University in Lubbock. For the next 50 years, Michael spent his time opening many restaurants in Texas, Arkansas and finally the Brook Restaurant in Tulsa, Okla. His natural, giving spirit extended beyond his family, as well. Michael was known to be fair and generous with friends, employees, associates and neighbors alike. Michael was preceded in death by his father Malcolm, mother Dorothy, brother David, and daughter, Paige. He is survived by his sister, Suzanne and husband Mike Ballow; grandchildren, Fletcher, Patterson, Michael. Other family members include Maynon, Monica, Meggan, Fletcher, Patterson, Michael Linwood, Jonah, Ethan, Thomas, Maxson and Mae.
