Catherine Cathie (Padilla) Soliz suffered a heart attack and died from complications of her condition on July 15, 2021. When she left this earth she was surrounded by all the members of her immediate family as well as many members of her extended family.
She was born in Florence, Arizona on August 22, 1953 and came to Yuma when her parents moved here in 1961. Cathie was a proud Yuma Criminal and worked for the Quechan Indian Tribe for the last 28 years as the Property and Supply Manager. She loved her work and enjoyed helping out with the many special events the tribe was involved with such as the tower lighting, holiday preparations and dinners.
Cathie was also very proud of being an organ donor and her family was very happy to learn that she was able to donate to the organ donor program after her passing. She also loved making and sharing her famous yeast rolls during the holidays each year.
Cathie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert (Bobby) Soliz, her three daughters, Andrea, Christina, and Brittney (Denise Perez) Soliz, her step daughter Melissa (Ralph) Bendele, her father Tony Padilla (Eleanor), and her three sisters, Bobbie (George) Mitchell, Terri (Eddie) De La Huerta, and Margie Zavala. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Her pride and joy were her two grandsons Mason and Dylan (sons of Christina).
Cathie was preceded in death by her mother, Molly Padilla, her niece, Angela Nunez, and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Gill.
Services will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11545 E. 40th Street, Yuma, AZ 85367 on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 at 10:00 am.

I shared with Andrea that it has truly been an honor to be your friend and that I was grateful for the goodness that you brought into our lives.
I will always remember that you stood with me during the most awful times and kept me on track and focused when I needed it. I will miss listening to your stories about Bob, the Girls and your grandsons.
Ethan and Nareese will always remember your hugs, your surprise presents and the never empty snack drawer.
Thank you for letting me hang out with you for the past 20 plus years and I hope that Heaven is everything you said it would be.

I'm still at a loss for words.. Cathie always had a wonderful vibe about her, Cathie had such a beautiful smule I enjoyed my talks with when I would go up to Supplies and Properties you will never find an employee like Cathie it will hard to not see her in her office .. My deepest condolences to her children..grandchildren..family and her co-workers she worked with for yrs. Cathy, I remember your 1st day at work in the Finance office. And you are my best friend and co-worker for many years. All the lunches we shared and talks we had. Nina, you are truly going to be missed. Every time I would come home I got to visit you. I loved to see your smiling face when I would surprise you! It made my day talking about growing up with you around. I will never forget our last meeting another surprise and that was for the both of us!!
