I've been friends with Susan since our mothers were introduced to each other when Sue and I were two years old. I spent many days and nights at Cecile's home where I always felt welcome. I just told Sue that I learned how to make cinnamon-sugar pie crust with left over dough from her mom. If Cecile made a pie while I was there Sue and I would get the treat from that dough. Cecile was very upbeat and I can remember her singing and that cute flirtatious smile she would give looking out of the corner of her eyes. She was always young at heart and a talented artist as already mentioned. She lived a good life.

A flood of memories of a mother who kept her 5 daughters at the center of her life. I loved as a child being in her home playing and exploring her mother's garden next door. Cecile's had exceptonal artistic talents which bloomed later in her life and I happily own one waterfront watercolor. But most of all I recollect her always welcoming big broad smile. I last saw her at my mother's 90th birthday, where she proudly described each of her daughter's accomplishments and the beautiful women they have become. Cecile carried a heart full of love for her family, friends and church community.
