I served in chu lai, vietnam with david. He worked as a cook but didn't like cooking so they gave him other duties. The last couple months in vietnam I drove a jeep for a captain. David would ride to Da Nang with me at different times. He was a great guy. I tried to find him after we came home

Dave, we will forever cherish the past two years we shared with you. We know you suffered in silence, strived to be strong and hide your emotions. Mom raised us to take care of each other.. We are so blessed to have been with you and that you knew we would never leave your side in your desperate time of need...we are so sorry for your pain and suffering.. Yet through all that you found laughter in recalling our crazy growing up years.. We love you and will forever miss you... You truly are OUR HERO ! You endured so much..! Dave was so grateful to his sons who stood by him through out his illness. We thank them for their dedication and love...Rest in Peace dear brother

I have many memories of Davey living down the street from him on 12th Drive, walking home together after school at O.C. Johnson, playing Little League baseball together (we won the championship when we were 12 year olds), playing football together at Yuma High where he was a defensive starter at about 130 pounds.

My condolences to all of his family especially to his big brother, Ish, and his beautiful sisters.

My dad " IS " a great man, a very hard working Dad and Husband, he had a sense of humor like no other person I know, and he has surely past that down to all of us children. I could tell you so many funny stories but the one that comes to mind is when we had a birthday cake for him, we had made sure to put all the candles around the whole entire cake so that he had to blow them ALL out, needless to say he had and added a little spit also, we all gave him a gross look and my Dad said " the cake is all mine now! " It sure was after that. He sure could tell some stories and leave you wondering if it was BS or truth, which usually it was a little of both, his laugh to me was contagious and would bring tears to my eyes because he could make me laugh so hard. My dad might not have showed a lot of feelings but I do know he loved his wife ( Lee ) and his children ( myself Heidi, David, Sarah & Joshua ) as well as his siblings ( Ish, Carol, Lydia, & Raynard ) very much! All his family and friends will miss him and I'm sure he would be saying " Awww I'm ok, don't worry about me just take care of yourself " following with some kind of wise crack joke because that's how he is. I do live with some regrets though, I was unable to be there for him when I had said I'd always be there to care for my parents and siblings when they needed to be and I had, but i wasn't there for him. I don't happen to be there for him now. I wanted to be able to say this to him in person. I do pray he understands and forgives me! I love you Dad so very much and I truly Love my Mom and all my siblings....

Love always
