Fran graduated from high school in Milwaukee. After the war, in June of 1946, she married Eugene Pfankuch and moved to his hometown, Racine, WI. There they raised two daughters, Jo Ann and Linda. They loved to travel, visiting all 50 states, parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico. Their favorite place to visit was Laughlin, Nevada.

Fran is survived by her two daughters, Jo Ann Gatley (Greg Rosienski) and Linda Pias (Mark); her brother Walter Bergmann Jr. (Carol) of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren, Jennifer Solis (Miguel), Joseph Gatley, Christopher Pias, and Melissa Pias; and six great-grandchildren. She was much loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Eugene, her parents Frieda and Walter Bergmann, and her sister Edith Bergmann.

There will be no services according to her wishes. There will be a private family gathering to scatter her ashes later in the spring.
