Manuel Villaneda Obituary

Manuel B. Villaneda, 88, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014 in Yuma, AZ. He was born on November 1, 1925 in Somerton.

Manuel served in the U.S. Army during World War II receiving a Purple Heart in 1947. He retired from Arizona Western College.

Manuel had attended St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was a member of DAV and American Legion Post 0047. He enjoyed gardening and loved being around his grandchildren.

Manuel was survived by his wife Beatriz Villaneda; daughters, Virginia Villaneda, Barbara Villaneda and Petra (Wayne) Boyd; grandsons, Alex and Matthew; son, Manuel (Kay) Villaneda Jr.; granddaughters, Amanda and Leslie Villaneda; all of Yuma, AZ; sisters, Isabel, Helen, Matilda.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Yuma Mortuary from 5pm to 9pm with Rosary starting at 7pm. Graveside services will be on Thursday October 30, 2014 at 9am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
