Nancy Hardin Obituary

Nancy E. Hardin

October 28, 1954 - July 1st, 2024

Nancy E. Hardin, age 69, passed away Monday, July 1st, 2024. She was born October 28, 1954 in Syracuse, New York to Maynard and Norma (Kurtz) Snyder.

Growing up in Syracuse and graduating from the Cathedral Academy Syracuse in 1972, she pursued higher education in the field of elementary education by moving to Florida and attending Saint Leo College- graduating in 1976.

Teaching became a passion for Nancy. She taught children with down syndrome in Okinawa, Japan and then moved to Yuma to work at Mary Elizabeth Post Elementary in the fall of 1984. She worked within the school district for nearly thirty years, enriching so many within our community. It truly made her happy running into past students (and later, their own children!).

She married the love of her life, Larry, on May 25th, 1984 at the Lutes' Gretna Green Wedding Chapel. Together, along with their dogs, they raised a family in Yuma.

Surviving family members include her husband, Larry; three children, Melissa (Matt) Brewer, Patrick (Emily) Hardin, and Kristen (Jack) Tatro; grandchildren Ryan and Olivia, and her elder brother, Maynard Snyder.
