Patricia Amado Obituary

Patricia Amado

February 6, 1960 - June 23, 2024

Patricia Amado passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, in Chandler, AZ, at the age of 64. She was born on February 6, 1960, in Las Cruces, New Mexico; she arrived just 9 short minutes after her twin sister Louise to Tony and Mary Amado. Tony was stationed in White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico at the time the twins were born, then returned to their home in Yuma, Arizona.

She was known as Pat by family and friends. She had a lively personality. She wasn't one for delicacy but had a knack for sarcasm. Still, everyone adored her for it. She was a natural athlete, playing tennis in high school, and enjoyed traveling, camping, and jogging daily during her adventures

Pat has lived in the Tempe/Chandler area for 44 years, working in the food and beverage industry throughout her life. Known for her sociable nature and skill in engaging with customers.

Pat had an unwavering passion for sports, especially the Arizona teams: the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Phoenix Suns. She enjoyed mingling with some professional athletes, her favorites being Charles Barkley, Tony Gwynn, and Steve Finley, although her heart truly belonged to the Yuma High Criminals. She was known as the life of the party and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Pat had a favorite saying: "Life isn't always tacos and tequila, but it should be."

She is survived by her father, Tony Amado; twin sister, Louise Steckler; brother-in-law, John Steckler; brother, Martin Amado; and nephews, Tyler and Preston Steckler. Pat was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Amado.

A private interment will be held for the family members. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for the fall to honor Pat's memory.
