Ronald Cerney Obituary

Ronald Joseph Cerney

April 24, 1945 - April 16, 2025

Ronald Joseph Cerney, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 in his home in Yuma Arizona. Ronald was born on April 24th, 1945, to Frank and Cynthia (Goldhoffer) Cerney, in Chicago Ill.

Ronald is survived by his sister, Caroll Herrmann and her husband Dennis; his three children and their (spouses), Frank Cerney (Heather Grimes), Holly Hebert (Mark) and his incredible care providers, Mandy Cerney (Dave Fuller).

Dad was a loving father, loyal friend, and talented craftsman. He was proud of his children, and had great love for us as well as his close friends. We are grateful for his love, guidance, wisdom, humor, discipline, and friendship. We will miss him greatly and are blessed that we had him in our lives longer than we will be without him.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents; our mom, Diana, his granddaughter, Danielle and his loving companion, Barbara.

A family celebration of life is pending.

My first memory of Ron is from high school. We could see how much he loved my friend and classmate, Diana. Life took us in different directions after school, and my next memory was to learn of Diana's passing. One thing I know is true: Ron loved Diana and their children 'til his dying day. Rest in peace, dear Ron. May your children and friends find peace, knowing that
Ron and his beloved Diana are together again.
