William Lackey Obituary

Billy Powell was 81 when he went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Born on December 14, 1934 in Yuma, AZ to John and Katie (Nanny) Lackey. Billy Powell graduated from Yuma High School in 1952. He worked as a Mechanic at Shaw's Garage in Somerton for 15 years with his step father, Fred Shaw and younger brother, Gene. In 1965, he moved his family to California where he became a successful salesman for over 40 years, and owned his own off-road tire business.

Billy was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Eileen; father, John; mother, Katie; step-father, Fred Shaw; older brother, Richard; and granddaughter, Jamie D'Lynn. He will be missed by his children, Cynthia, Susie (Mike), Brenda (Marvin), Stephen (Hortencia), Billy (Terri); step-daughter, Susan; ex-wife, Sue; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Scott, Sandra, Gregory, Arin, Briana, Bret (Savannah), and Sara; four great grandchildren, Aden, Farrah, Liam, and Cydney; and brother, Gene Lackey (Janice).

A Celebration of Billy Powell's Life along with his older brother's Richard will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Gene and Janice's home, 1810 W. County 18th Street, Somerton, AZ.

He was a" Good Old Boy" Could hold his own in any conversation and take it as well as dish it out...You'll be missed Powell, by me and MANY other's, but rest assured knowing I'll be around helping keep you Kid Brother (Gene) in check...and We'll all toast You and your Brother Richard come May 1st. at The Moneky Bar....till later OLD Friend...MP
