Carolyn Eileen Cody Porter
ZANESVILLE: Carolyn Eileen Cody Porter, 77, recently passed away at her home in Zanesville.
She was born July 19, 1937 in Zanesville, Ohio to Everett Cody and Alice (White) Mortine. Eileen attended Hopewell High School and graduated from The Zanesville Good Samaritan School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, neighbor, friend, equestrian, avid gardener and she loved and cared for all animals, especially her dogs. She was a kind and generous person and she touched the hearts and minds of those around her. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Katherine Owen, LJ Porter II; and her grandchildren, Derek Schmidt and Teo Porter.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Walker and Ramona Kieffer.
Memorial Services are pending.

My heartfelt sympathy to Eileen's family & friends. I knew her in school at Hopewell when she was Drum Majorette. I was a few yrs. younger & a majorette. She was so cute,nice & talented & I admired her so much & wanted to be just like her! I had not seen Eileen in many, many yrs. but I have fond memories of her. So so very sorry to hear of her passing, God Bless.

Eileen was a coworker of mine at the Area Agency on Aging. She was a wonderful person who always made me laugh. I was just thinking about a week before here death, I should try to get in touch with her to see how she was doing. Wish I would have now... There are a few of us still at the agency who worked with your mom, and they all have fond memories of her. I'm so sorry for your loss.

So very sad. Hope and pray I can be even a little bit as gentle and loving as her. We lost a lot of years with her but now she can pick crabs up in heaven and laugh a lot with Aunt Mona and Mom as they celebrate a reunion. Thank you Aunt Eileen for our hot dogs on the beach , fun days at your pool and warm memories of you comforted by your farm where you named your cows after all the cousins. Goodbye and as we always said ", I love you."

So sad to hear about Aunt Eileen. Have been remembering all the fun times at the pool, the farm, and on vacations! She had such a great sense of humor and was just fun to be around.
