James McMillen Obituary
ZANESVILLE: James P. "Jim" McMillen, 81, of Zanesville, longtime area owner and founder of McMillen Tire, passed away at 8:55 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care. Jim was born December 23, 1930, in Byesville, OH, a son of the late Harry J. and Florence Ball McMillen.
He was a graduate of Lash High School Class of 1949. He was a member of Meadow Farm United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, VFW George Selsam Post #1058 and the Ohio Tire Dealers Association. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Patti) McMillen and John "Rocker" McMillen, both of Zanesville; two daughters, Marsha A. (Dave) Porter of Marysville and Laura (Pete) Sims of Dresden; seven grandchildren, Randy (Allison) McMillen, Michelle (Jared) House, Kayla (Paul) Witt, Leigh Ann Porter, Kylie Tyo, Kadie Tyo, and Abbie Tyo; five great grandchildren, Rachel, Emma, Caitlyn, Cooper, and Bailey; two brothers, William McMillen and Robin (Bud) McMillen; and a sister, Virginia L. Mahoney, all of Canton.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Taggart McMillen, who died April 2, 2012;
Friends and family may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Ashbrook and Pastor John Edwards officiating.
Jim will be laid to rest next to his wife, Ruth Ann, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will hold full military rites at the graveside.
Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to Meadow Farm Church, 6015 Coopermill Rd., Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Dear family,
Martha and I were in Ireland and Scotland so we missed Jim's funeral. So sorry to hear about the passing of such a true gentleman. He was always such a great guy when he came in our store or when we visited him in his shop. He will be sorely missed.
