Michael Amicone Obituary

Michael "Mick" Amicone Jr.

Zanesville - Michael "Mick" Anthony Amicone Jr., 64 of Nashport died peacefully with his family by his side at 9:25 PM Monday, May 31, 2021 at his home after a 4 1/2 year strong and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 16, 1956 in Uniontown, PA the son of Michael Anthony Amicone Sr. and Ann Marie Siwek Amicone.

Mick was a very active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, owner & operator along with his wife of the Fieldhouse Family Fitness Center, founder of the Fieldhouse Foundation, was involved in all types of programs including baseball, soccer, running and coaching youth sports just to name a few. He used his many talents to participate in all kinds of entertainment events where he sang, danced & performed to help raise money for many charities and to bring a smile to people's faces. Mick was the ultimate family man and most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.

Mick left us with very specific instructions and wanted us to share this challenge with others. He asked that we be a Godly example - to show kindness and genuine love to all those you meet.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Harriet Ann Kainaroi Amicone whom he married June 15, 1980; his five children, Alianna (Zach) Durfee, Maria (Ryan) Holmes, Michael Amicone, Katelyne (Jake) Allen and Matt (Kristin) Amicone; a sister, Susan (Dave) Morgan; nephew, Chad Morgan; niece, Tina Gundelfinger and six grandchildren, Sophia, Zoe, Luke, Frankie, Leo and Harry. Mick was preceded in death by his parents.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Rosary being recited at 6:45 PM on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Friday, June 4, 2021 at the St. Nicholas Church with Rev. JCP Sullivan as celebrant. A celebration of life will immediately follow the service at The Fieldhouse. All are welcome and encouraged to attend to share stories and memories with the family and each other. Private burial will conclude at the Mt. Olive Cemetery at a later date.

Years ago, I was that curious 12 year old girl who was so intrigued by your little family of 4 that moved in next door. You inspired me to run, even ran with me, and loved my like one of your own family. 30+ years later, I'm still running, Mick. You are forever in my heart. Love and prayers to all of the Amicone family.

Always enjoyed when Mickey and Susan came to Pittock to visit. Played down at Grandpas and Grandma’s all day. Have great memories of Mickey. Heaven is going to be amazed when Mickey sings. So sorry for your loss.

To the Amicone family,
My deepest condolences for the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and brother I have known Mick for close to 55 years. He was a neighbor, a classmate and a very good friend. To Susan I will keep you and your family in my prayers. It is very hard to lose a sibling when it is your only one. To the rest of the family may God wrap his arms around you all and give you comfort at this time of need. God bless you all.
