William Howe Obituary

William R. Howe, Sr. Battle Creek William R. Howe, Sr., age 89, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Moore's Assisted Living Home. William was born on September 30, 1919, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of William and Vera (Kelley) Howe. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was a resident of the area for 5 years. He spent his winters in Fort Pierce, FL, and his summers in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. He was married to the former Shirley Ginther who preceded him in death on April 3, 1984. He then married the former Betty Farris who survives. He was an avid tennis player, enjoyed fishing, and competitive Bridge. He is survived by a son, William R. (Karen) Howe IV of Battle Creek; 2 daughters, Deborah (Robert) Ryan of Flint, MI, and Kimberly (Gregory) Hartig of Cross Plains,WI; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. His immediate family will gather in the near future for a private celebration of his life. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a Charity of One's Choice. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.

Bill, Words can't express how we feel at times like this. I lost my own father almost 5 years ago and the grief is pretty thick at times.
