Sarah Ann Hall

Sarah Ann (Pestun) Hall East Leroy Sarah Ann (Pestun) Hall, 65, of East Leroy, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. She was born February 24, 1944 in Dayton, Tennessee the daughter of Clarence and Betty (Barger) Yates. On July 19, 1963, Sarah was married to Anton Pestun, who preceded her in death on June 16, 1993. She was a member of the Andrus Street Church of God, and loved to cook, care for her family and travel. For several years, Sarah worked as a teacher's aide for the Calhoun County Head Start program. On January 2, 1998 she married Bill F. Hall, who survives. Also surviving are three sons: Anton Rodney Pestun of Napa Valley, CA, Donald Thomas (Sherry) Pestun of Lawton, OK and Ricky Lee (Lynn) Pestun of Battle Creek; three stepsons: Bill (Jan) Hall, Jr. of Climax, James (Brenda) Hall of East Leroy and Ricky (Patty) Hall of East Leroy; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; two sisters: Phyllis (Jerry) Mainstone of East Leroy and Joby (Chuck) Glau of Battle Creek; several nieces and nephews. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Clara Swafford and Shirley Bordner; and one brother, Tommy Yates. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James V. Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence or The ALS Association West Michigan Office.
