Robert Richardson Obituary

Robert D. Richardson Houghton Lake Robert D. Richardson, 81, of Houghton Lake formerly of Battle Creek died Sunday December 20, 2009 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. He was born on March 3, 1928 in Battle Creek to Rolland W. and Louise R. (Coffman) Richardson. Robert married Katherine M. Jones on June 11, 1949. He was employed by the Kellogg Company for 40 years retiring in 1983. Robert then owned and operated the Trade Winds Resort on Houghton Lake. He is survived by his wife, Katherine M. , of Houghton Lake, a son, James R. (Tina) Richardson, of Bentley, MI; a daughter, Robyn E. Heckman, of Kalamazoo, 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, sisters, Elizabeth Mowry, of Battle Creek and Carolyn Cochran, of Kalkaska; and several nieces and nephews. Robert had coached Little League Baseball in Battle Creek in his earlier years. He was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He also groomed snowmobile trails in the Houghton Lake area for several years. Family will receive friends from 5p.m. to 8p.m. Tuesday December 22, 2009 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Services will be held 1p.m. Wednesday at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
