I had the great honor of studying with Professor Velimirovic at the University of Virginia and beyond. He was a wonderful and inspiring teacher, a fabulous scholar and a great friend. Our deepest sympathies go to Beth and family. Mish, you will be missed. Memory Eternal!

I met Mr. and Mrs. Velimirovic when I reviewed their house for a column, and I found them both to be the most wonderful people, generous and kind. I said in my review of the house that they were the best things about it, and I meant it. I send my deepest sympathies to Mrs. Velimirovic on her great loss.

Mr. Velimirovic taught two wonderful music classes that I took in the mid-1980s at UVa. He was an incredible teacher, able to share his love of music and his sense of humor. I still remember him talking about how "juicy" some of the music was in Mozart's operas. I also interacted with him during the 10 years I worked at the Music Library and he was always courteous and kind. I noticed at one time that he was wearing a Kermit the Frog tie and he told me how proud he was that his daughter Mira worked with Jim Henson and the Muppets. You have my sympathies.

Although I never had a chance to meet Dr. Velimirovic, I read his obituary and was very impressed with his accomplishments in his adoptive country. Since we were both born in the same city, both immigrated to USA, and ended living in Charlottesville, I felt an urge to pay my last respects to him and his family this way.
Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your husband, father, and grandfather.
