Lois V. Darnell

Lois V. Darnell, 77, of Charlottesville, was born on December 21, 1931, and walked the stairway to heaven on Friday, September 4, 2009. She is going to join her father and mother, George and Ruby Fisher. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Frank Darnell; and a sister, Mary.

Lois is survived by a sister, Beatrice; two brothers, Paul and George Henry; six children, James Fitzgerald of Louisa, Dolly Walton and her husband, Kenneth "Gene", of Scottsville, Roy Fitzgerald and his girlfriend, Becky Call, of Charlottesville, Bobby Lee Fitzgerald of Charlottesville, Ellen Bishop and her husband, Donald, of Louisa, and Jerry Fitzgerald and his girlfriend, Patricia Brown, of Troy; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mother, grandmother, when we think of love, we think of you, who helped us grow up straight and true. We can never repay you but the one thing we can do is to tell you we will always love you. You will always be our sunshine.

Special thanks to her nurse, Darlene Leon.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2009, Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at Monticello Memory Gardens with the Reverend Sidney Craig officiating.
