I am saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing him within the mortgage industry, in which he truly left his mark. I had lunch with Bob and Pete Grumm just a few short months ago. After ordering sushi for all of us, he spoke of his family, his second career and his love of chess. He was a special man and he will be missed by many.

Bob talked of his remarkable children and wife during the short time he was in our support group at Gilda's Club. It was as if their collective spirit and love were going to carry him to wellness. How sad that he has left them, but I hope they know how much he valued his family.

Mary and family,
Cheryl and I want you to know how profoundly saddened we are to learn of Bob's passing. We have so many memories of our early years in banking at Community Savings Bank. French onion soup and beef wellington at your house along with live Maine lobster from Bob's trips north are cherished memories. We also shared our lives in our trips to Bills' games, excursions to Toronto, dinners with Beth Hennessy and Ed Sullivan, and restaurant tours in Buffalo.
I will always rememeber when Bob and I were management trainees at CSB and two job opportunities came up, one in the branches and one in mortgage servicing. The choice that Bob made to pursue the mortage job and mine to pursue the branch position have proven to define our careers and our lives.
The last memory I will share is the effort that Bob made to help me get through our computer programming course during our MBA studies at RIT. While I was struggling with amortization equations he was working with more complex decision tables. He was the resource that got me through that class.
While the years since RCSB have moved us on separate paths I have always considered Bob to be an important part of my life. We are all greater for having had a chance to share our lives with him. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help in any way.

I was shocked to read the news in the D&C today. I worked with and played golf with Bob back in the 70's & 80's at Rochester Community
Savings Bank. He was a great manager and friend. Although I have not seen Bob for many years, I will tell you that he did touch the lives of many at the Bank. He will be sadly missed by all.

Mary,
Bob was a wonderful man, so very proud of his family and even more so of his grandchildren. I had the pleasure of working with this extrodinary man at HSBC for several years. He had a dream and a vision he made them come true. He was a person you could count on, he made you laugh and no matter the circumstances he always found a way to bring out the best in everyone. He will be missed, you and your family will be in my prayers.

I had known Bob for a few years through mutual friends, not as intimately as many of you, but nevertheless knew he was an extraordinary man. He had superior intellect but often displayed it in a gentle, sometimes even humble way. He had a sense of humor about him tailored to each aspect of his life. He was proud…of his family, his friends and his accomplishments, in work and in life beyond it. He was an inspiration each and every time I had the honor of meeting his acquaintance and he will be forever missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with Bob’s family and dear friends during this difficult time…
