Dear daddy,
We had your service today and I am so proud to be your daughter. You're loved by so many. I can't believe your gone. I'm so sad. My heart is hurting. I know how you valued life and loved to be here with us. I remember your goal was to make it to 100 years. If God didn't have other plans for you, you would have. Well, He called you home to be with him and you are not suffering anymore. I couldn't bear the thought of losing you, but I have peace knowing your not hurting. I also know that you were 80 (wow!) and lived a full, beautiful life. Thank you for being my bestest daddy. I'll always be your little girl. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxforever

I didn't know Bob well, but you wouldn't know that when you met him coming up the trail. He always addressed me as if I were his son or something. I so enjoyed his attitude and lust for life. He even taught me a thing or two about the mountain. God bless you Bob, I'll miss you.

I am one of the many, many hikers who grew to love and respect Hiker Bob. One of the last times I saw him was at the Mt. Wilson Trail Race. He told me then that he felt very good and was blessed to be doing so well. He also indicated that he was almost 80, had lived a greatly blessed life, and was ready to go if / when God called him home. It's comforting to me to know Hiker Bob is with God. I know you will all rejoice when you see him again - in Heaven. God bless you all - I am praying for you, his family.

My deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss. To me, as I think of both you and Robert, I can not think of a single moment of time in my life where I have not just taken for granted that you and he would always be there. My very deepest sympathy and love to you during this time. If you have any need at all that you feel I can help with or assist or just be there for you please think of me and do not hesitate to call. My love to you always, Kathy

Carolyn,
As your neighbors for the past 21 years, we've become part of your family and you've become part of ours.....Robert will be missed, he put a valiant fight against this dreaded disease, but we all know he's now in heaven and no longer suffering. May God surround you with his love and comfort now.
Love-Ken, Barbara, Kelli and Daniel.
