Robert Strasburger Obituary

STRASBURGER, Robert C.

Age 87, of Franklin, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Franklin Ridge Healthcare

Center. Bob "Dutch" was born in Greensburg, Indiana, on

September 2, 1933, to the late Charles and Julia Strasburger. He graduated from St. Mary School (1947), Greensburg High School (1951) and Indiana State University (1955). He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia (Weisner) Strasburger, and two brothers, William and Daniel Strasburger. He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Sue Szczygiel (Larry), Nancy Ann Horn (Joby) and a son, Stephen Scott Strasburger. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Theresa Szczygiel Braun (Steve), Stephanie Horn Werner (Chris), Timothy Szczygiel, Matt Horn, Kyle Strasburger

(Brandy), Hunter Strasburger and Samantha Strasburger. In addition, he is survived by three great-grandchildren who were all born in 2020 – Ella Grace Braun, Charles Robert Strasburger (his namesake) and Nicholas Gray Werner. He worked for Cheney Pulp and Paper in Franklin for over 40 years. Bob enjoyed sports - basketball was his favorite, which he proudly played until he was 55 at the Middletown YMCA, antiques-especially his extensive carnival glass collection, hunting for bargains at flea markets/garage sales/antique shops, marbles – which was a passion he acquired from his son, engaging in conversation - sometimes very one-sided if it was about one of his strong opinions and having fun with family - especially if it involved eating. He will always be

remembered for his tremendous generosity, everlasting

optimism and wisdom. May he rest in the peace of the Lord, in the comfort of Heaven, for eternity, by God's miraculous Grace. Due to the family's concern for the safety of everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic, they have decided to have a private family service with livestreaming of the service available beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021. To access the livestreaming please visit Mr. Strasburger's story on the funeral home website and click on join live stream.

Interment will follow in New Jersey Presbyterian Church

Cemetery. Online condolences or memories may be left for the family at www.anderson-fh.com.

As a young man i always looked for men with positive traits i tryed to copy because i wanted to be the best family man, religious man, humorous and someone others enjoyed being around. Bob was a man i became friends with and i tryed to emulate. I always looked forward to Bob's trips to our both at Traders World where we often spent hours talking about sports, politics, religion, antiques and other topics he and i both had an opinion of. Rest in Peace my friend and and please tell my wife i miss her so.
