Mary was my secret sister at First Christian Church for a certain period of time. When I drew her name, I knew who she was but that was about it. A secret sister is another lady from the church who you pray for daily, and send a card or gift each month. I had fun trying to nonchalantly ask Mary questions in order to know what she might like or need prayer for. The Sunday after our 'reveal party' Mary thanked me for being her secret sister, and Tom was so surprised! Evidently he didn't know who Cindy was. Tom told Mary that if she had said that 'Dolly' was her secret sister, he would have known exactly who she meant! Tom can finish the rest of the story!

I was admitted to the hospital the same day as Mary. We wound up in the same room. We both go to the same church but did not know each other that well. It was a blessing to be in the same room with her. We talked about our families, our faith and our lives. I am so sorry for your loss. Joan Andersen.

Mary was one of our faithful choir members at First Christian. How she loved to sing. It was a privilege to be her choir director. She will be greatly missed.
