Margaret Latimer Obituary

Margaret M. (Peggy) Latimer passed away peacefully at her Merrill Gardens home on January 18, 2012. She was born on January 20, 1921 in Fort Frances, Ontario, the youngest of four siblings, Ruth, John and favorite brother Tom Greening. She grew up in rural northern New York. After graduating from Albany Bible College she served 2 yrs at a hospital in the Canadian arctic. The summer of 1950, while attending Mary Lake Bible Camp, she spotted the camp director who became the love of her life, Ridley Latimer. It was love at first sight and they were married 4 months later in Williamsville, New York by her brother. Ridley was a pastor and together they served for 45 years of fruitful full-time Christian ministry in 6 locations. Peggy loved her family and their times together. She enjoyed creative arts and playing games.
She is survived by her son Geoffrey Mark, his wife Anne, daughter Lisa Joy, her husband Jim Carpenter, five lovely granddaughters Kristi (Tim), Danielle (Jacob), Jami (Dave), Jeni, Jodi, and two great-granddaughters Samantha and Clara. A graveside service will be held at Bayview Cemetery on Wednesday, Jan 25th at 3:00 pm. Please sign the online guest book and share your memories of Peggy at
