Anita Lieberman Obituary

Lieberman, Anita ALBANY Anita Zlochover Lieberman, age 89, of the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany, died on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the nursing home. Mrs. Lieberman was born in the Bronx and has resided most of her life in the Capital District. While residing in the NYC area she was employed in the garment district. She was also employed for many years by the Guilderland High School as a teacher's aide until her retirement. Anita enjoyed spending her summers at Saratoga Lake. She was a world traveler and had a fondness for the opera and the ballet .She enjoyed knitting, was an avid reader, enjoyed the game of mahjong and was a diehard New York Yankee fan. Anita was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth in Albany, a member of ORT where she volunteered. She selflessly spent her time volunteering at the library, food pantry and meals on wheels. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Mannie Lieberman in 2011. Loving mother of Wendy (Greg) Pyle of Clifton Park, N.Y., Bill (Rita) Lieberman of Maineville, Ohio and David (Sue) Lieberman of Queensbury, N.Y.; sister of Renee (Howard) Dintzis of Baltimore, Md.; cherished grandmother of Jeremy (Sarah), Devin (Jess), Zachary Pyle and Molly Lieberman. She also leaves two great-grandchildren, Emily and Jacob Pyle. Services will be held in the chapel at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, 180 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, N.Y. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will be held following services at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. The period of mourning will be observed on Thursday, 6:30 p.m. at the home of David and Sue Lieberman, 44 Fox Hollow Lane in Queensbury, N.Y. and on Saturday, 6:30 p.m. at the home of Greg and Wendy Pyle, 11 Royal Oak Drive in Clifton Park, NY. Those wishing to remember Anita in a special way may make a memorial contribution to either the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or the American Cancer Society, 1 Penney Lane, Latham, NY 12110.
