Jonah Carpenter Obituary
Jonah Carpenter, age 85, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away November 12, 2020. He was born to Bessie Smith
Carpenter and Jessie Carpenter in Clay County, Kentucky, on June 30, 1935. Jonah is preceded in death by his parents,
six siblings and his son,
Christopher. He is survived
by his wife, Cherri Worrell
Carpenter; daughter, Amy Struharik (Stephen); and grandson, Nathaniel Struharik. Jonah served in the Army as an
instructor at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He graduated from
Cumberland College and Eastern Kentucky University and was an educator for more than 40 years. He loved volunteering which included 30 years of service at the Cincinnati Ronald McDonald House. Watching University of Kentucky basketball and listening to gospel music were two favorite pastimes. One of his greatest joys was being called "Pop-Pop" by his grandson. I still miss our chats at Krogers and exchanging bad jokes with each other. Jonah was a good man and his passing left a void for all who encountered Jonah.

Mr. Carpenter was my 5th grade teacher at Central Elementary School. He was one of my favorite teachers. I thank him for his teachings and the great education I achieved at that school. Condolences to his family at the loss of a wonderful man. God Bless.

Mr. Carpenter was My 5th Grade Teacher at McKinley Elementary. I use to Always run into him thru out the years at the Towne Mall Sitting back over by Sears. The last time I seen him was at Kroger on Towne Blvd. As the Greeter. I made sure to always make it a Point to talk to him. Saddens me to hear of his passing. My Condolences to his Family.
