Nicholsen, Kathleen FREEHOLD Kathleen Nicholsen, 67, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones. Kathy lived a generous life and will be remembered with great love. Kathy is survived by her adoring husband Wayne Nicholsen of 35 years; their loving children, Jennifer, Austin, and Wendy; as well as her mother Lillian Becker. Kathy was cherished by her brother Al, his wife Laura, and goddaughter Madisyn. She leaves behind her brother Fred (Sue); and sisters, Suzanne, Denise (Brian), Anne (Roger), and Janet. She is also survived by her husband Wayne's brother Gary (Libby) and sister Gail (Oddvar); her many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and their children. Kathy had a true passion for children and was a very special person in their lives. Kathy was predeceased by her father, Fred Becker; her grandparents, Sal and Augie Ingrassia; and sister Patricia Linder. In addition to being a dedicated mother, a loving and supportive daughter, and a caring wife, Kathy loved her homes, her dogs, her family, her friends, and her church. She served as a eucharistic minister at St. John's in Greenville and St. Joseph's in Florida. She dedicated much time to the Catholic Daughters of America and the Greene County Women's Cancer League. Kathy graduated from Greenville High School in 1971 and went on to graduate with honors from Mount Saint Mary College in 1975. She went on to teach special education in New Jersey before returning to Greenville. Kathy excelled at making all those visiting Sunny Hill feel welcome and part of the Sunny Hill family, while forming long-lasting friendships through the years. Those who loved Kathy know there is a special place in heaven for her with the Lord, Jesus Christ.
