Meeting Karen in Washington DC 1976, she was kind to offer me residency in her beautiful apartment as I transitioned in this new location post graduating from Antioch College. She was near Howard University and straight up the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Karen´s encouragement and guidance added this sense of reassurance. I recall her being disciplined in her routines. She was very aware and knowledgeable about the social themes of the day. Karen´s kindness I will remember.
Please accept my condolences to the family and friends of this remarkable women.
