Being newer to the area and local GIS community, it did not take long before I knew of Fred. I wish I could have had more time to get to know him. He will be missed by many, but will not be forgotten as the value of his contribution to the community will endure.

Ed was a great guy who cared about his coworkers. Being a Union Shop steward he was involved in making sure we all got a fair shake when it came to the work place. Not once in the many years of working with Ed did he not have a smile on his face when I saw him walking around. He was a positive influence where ever he went. He will be greatly missed. It was truly an honor to get to know Ed. I will miss you and your smile.

Ed was a great guy. Easily the most dashing counselor too. He will be missed.

I played Ultimate Frisbee with Ed in Everett for about 20 years. He was one of my favorite players - both competitive and kind in making sure everyone got to enjoy the game. I remember he brought Monaco out as a kid who we took it easy on. Later, Ed was so proud when Monaco came out to play (and run circles around us.) There's a thing in Ultimate called "spirit of the game." Ed had it in spades. I will continue to miss him out on the field.

So very sorry to hear the news. Ed was more than a co- worker, he was a friend. He moved next door to my brother-in-law. Gone to soon Ed, RIP.
