Elizabeth Tillinghast Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Tillinghast
Elizabeth "Betty" Tillinghast, 90, of Groton, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 11, 2022, surrounded by her family at the Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. Betty was born June 13, 1932, in Stamford, Connecticut to Stanley Vishnosky and Bridgette Hoyt Vishnosky. She was wife of Norman Tillinghast, he preceded her in death on March 31, 2005.
Betty was a longtime resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut where she and Norman raised their five sons.
She is survived by sons: Christopher Tillinghast and his wife Linda of Colchester, Timothy Tillinghast and his wife Jeanne of Southbury, Mark Tillinghast of Groton and Peter Tillinghast and his partner Diane Daskam of Ridgefield; daughter-in-law Sallie Franz of Watertown; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband Norman, she was preceded in death by son Douglass Tillinghast, who she joins again in heaven as well as her brother William Vishnosky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Sacred Heart Church, 56 Sacred Heart Drive in Groton. Burial will be private.
