Eleanor Russell Obituary

Eleanor M. Russell

Easthampton, MA - Eleanor Russell, formerly of Easthampton, died December 29th at the Norway Health and Rehabilitation Center in Norway, Maine. She was 98.

She was born in South Deerfield, the daughter of Alec and Mary (Ralicki) Kisloski, and worked until the age of sixteen on the family farm. After graduation from Deerfield High School and the former Northampton Commercial college, she moved to Easthampton where she was employed by the United Elastic Company. While there, she met her husband Bob and they were married on September 2, 1950.

Eleanor was a working mother and, in addition to raising two sons, served as the founding secretary of the Hampshire County Multiple Listing Service and later as an administrative assistant to the secretary at Smith College.

She retired in 1990 and spent many enjoyable hours walking, reading, playing scrabble, and visiting with a wide circle of friends.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Robert O. Russell in 1982 and son James T. in 1986, as well as her siblings, Mary Fink of Easthampton and Alec and Joseph Kisloski, both of South Deerfield.

She is survived by her son, Robert Jr, his wife Anita, of Norway, Maine and several nieces and nephews.

Her burial was in Brookside Cemetery in Easthampton with arrangements made through the Boucher O Brien Funeral Home.
