David Cushing Neville

Concord, NH - On Thursday, January 25, 2024 David Cushing Neville passed away following a period of deteriorating health.

David, or Dave to his friends and family, was born on April 25, 1937, and grew up in Manchester, NH. He was the third of four sons of Joseph Patrick and Anna Johnson Neville. He was predeceased by his brothers William, Joseph, and Richard, and Cousin Jack Neville. He was also predeceased by his son Matthew Allen Neville.

Dave was a proud graduate of Manchester Central High School (1953), Dartmouth College (1957), and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (1959). His degrees led him to a career in City Planning in Wilmington, DE, and State Planning in New Hampshire. He was particularly proud of the redevelopment work on Wilmington DE's Market Street and of the Great Bay, NH watershed preservation he coordinated with the NH Department of Planning and Development.

Dave is survived by his wife Jill Coldwell Neville and two sons, Daniel P. Neville and partner Linda and Timothy S. Neville and wife Pamela. Grandchildren include grandsons Jayson Neville, Carter Neville, wife Abbie, Christopher Neville, Benjamin Herrin, wife Jennifer, and granddaughter Alisa Barnard. He was blessed with six great grandchildren: Isabella Neville, Bodie Neville, Maxwell Herrin, Lucas Herrin, Samuel Barnard, and Rebecca Barnard.

Dave and Jill enjoyed a pleasurable retirement, building their "dream home" in Newmarket, NH, sailing their family-owned sailboat, "High Spirits," and traveling throughout the United States and Europe.
