I was saddened to hear of Catherine´s passing and had gotten used to wishing her a happy Birthday in October every year. I was living in Catherine´s home the lower terrace level and considered buying her home. Her 3 Daughters came to visit to try and talk her into moving west. They succeeded but Catherine could not fly nor drive herself as she battled cancer so I told the 3 I would drive her out there.
I had the pleasure of driving Catherine and her precious cat from her home in Brookhaven GA to San Diego. We took her little red Subaru and the 1st night stayed in a hotel in some town in Mississippi. We checked in and before long were walking in an inch of water to get to our room. We were able to get other rooms but because she had made reservations ahead to stay in pet friendly places she asked if I would make reservations the rest of the way and I did. We snuck her cat in the next few nights at nice (dry) hotels and her cat never made a sound. It was a beautiful cross country trip and I remember leaving her a Harmony of the Gospels with a note and then Uber´d to the Silver Train in San Diego to LA to visit my daughter Lauren who was living in Santa Monica. I was grateful and blessed to know and be able to take her to be with family the rest of her years.
May God Bless her and her entire family in every way..
