Wesley Sturtevant Obituary

Wesley (Lee) R. Sturtevant

Concord, NH - Lee Sturtevant, 69, passed away on March 2, 2024, after courageously living with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis for almost 4 years.

Lee was born in Laconia, NH, to Wesley and Lorraine (Brunt) Sturtevant. He was born an athlete, excelling in baseball, track, tennis and several other sports throughout his life. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years. He was drafted by the Minnesota Twins minor league right out of High School in 1972. After one season with the Twins he decided to join the Navy and served honorably from 1973 to 1977. He served in the 7th Naval Fleet, where he had top secret clearance in teletype communications, and he spent time stationed in Japan. He had many adventures and experiences in his life, including working for Club Med from 1981 to 1983 in the Caribbean and Cancun, Mexico. He went on to become a successful salesman and sales manager in the swimming pool industry in Phoenix, AZ from 1985 to 1994. In 1995 he chose to become a Tennis Teaching Pro. He returned to NH in 1997. His thirst for knowledge led him to the world of computers. He loved providing remote computer assistance to individuals. In 2003, serendipity introduced him to his wife and soul mate. Cathy and Lee were married in 2006. He often said that his beloved wife was the best thing that ever happened to him, and she feels the same way about him.

Lee was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Dianne Bohler. In addition to his wife Cathy, he is survived by his sister Joanie Paquette, her husband Glenn, and nieces and nephews.

Lee and Cathy were very grateful for the compassionate care he received from Dr. Lacy, Dr. Burdick and the Granite VNA Hospice staff, especially Jennifer, his nurse. Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Lee would encourage us all to learn something new, watch a TED talk, laugh frequently, and be grateful for all the good in our lives. Donations in his memory may be made to PBS.org (Public Broadcasting Service) or a charity of your choosing.
